PerfectDisk Schedule Options

The PerfectDisk Client supports the Local Schedule type used to defragment drives, VMWare virtual guest drives or zero free space of drives on your local computer. The Local Schedule type offers the following schedule options:

§        One-Time Schedule Schedules used to perform the task (defragmentation task, or zero free space task) only once. This option should be used if you want to execute a defragmentation pass only once at a later specified time, such as the middle of the night or early morning hours when there is little workload.

§        Daily Schedule Schedules used to perform a task on a daily basis. The interval between passes may be one or several days. You should use this option whenever you want to schedule regular defragmentation passes or zero free space task more than once a week.

§        Weekly Schedule Schedules used to perform a task on a weekly basis. The interval between defragmentation passes may be one more days over the course of several weeks. You should use this option whenever you want to schedule regular defragmentation passes or zero free space task once or more per week and/or every several weeks.

Important: The Zero Fill Free Space task scheduling option is available only when you are running PerfectDisk for Exchange, PerfectDisk for Virtual Guests, PerfectDisk Hyper-V Host, or PerfectDisk Server versions.

Important: The Guest optimization scheduling option is only available in PerfectDisk for VMWare Host machines.

Schedules work according to these priorities:

  1. User initiates a manual defragmentation task.

  2. Defined schedules (one time, daily, weekly, Exchange, VMWare)

  3. Screensaver or StealthPatrol
